Through www.fundingfactory.com Bluewater has the opportunity to purchase new activity equipment with money earned from recycling old ink cartridges, cell phones, small electronics, and laptop computers. There is no cost to participate in this program. EVERYTHING is completely free – shipping costs, support help, etc. Over 50,000 organizations have used Funding Factory and they have kept over 21 million pounds of electronics out of landfills.
You can help us by bringing your old cartridges or any of the items above to Bluewater. We will take care of the rest. If you work at a business that uses lots of ink, you can even ship them right from your business via UPS for FREE. The proceeds will then go to Bluewater.
Over 300 million ink cartridges are thrown away every year. Meanwhile, 30 million cell phones were thrown away or replaced. Imagine if Bluewater supporters throughout the Red River Valley and Lake of the Woods districts stepped up in their homes, businesses, and churches to do something about this. Not only would this raise money for Bluewater, it would cut back on the mountain of cartridges and electronics littering God’s creation.
Here is how you can easily help with this program.
1) Call (218-326-6058) or email Micah for more information. He will answer any questions you have and provide you with any resources you may need.
2) Start collecting!
- Keep a bag in your house for the next time you visit Bluewater. We will also take them at Bluewater promo Sundays at your church.
- Keep a box or bag in your workplace next to the printer or by your desk. Ask employees to put the old cartridges in the box.
- Ask your church if they can be a drop-off site. This will allow more people to join in the project as well.
- Bring them to camp or send them on the bus this summer.
- If you have 20 items or more and want to get rid of them now, you can let Micah know and he will set you up with free shipping labels. You can then drop them off at a UPS dropoff site and they will take care of the rest.
- Come to Bluewater this summer and enjoy friends, family, and the new equipment YOU helped to buy.
