This program is open for students entering grades 10-12. Our goal is to equip students to become leaders and followers in the way of Jesus Christ.
LIT is an opportunity to see camp from a different angle. We let in 6-8 students per week and they will be paired with a counselor. Their counselor and other camp staff will lead them in a service project during the mornings throughout the week. Previous LIT groups have built benches, low ropes elements, a bouldering wall, beanbag games, an addition to our swing set, a volleyball court, and more. We want to give them the opportunity to create something that will stay at camp for years to come. From 2-3 each day they will then do a leadership training session, led by their counselor. After the session, they have free time with the goal of making memories and putting those leadership traits into practice with the campers. Each LIT is paired with a cabin of campers to play games with, eat supper, attend chapel, play the night game and attend devotional time with. Then, after the cabin devotional, the LITs each come back to the LIT cabin for the night.
Throughout their week, the LITs get to grow close to their small group and create lasting relationships. They can also catch a glimpse of what it could be like to be on staff at a camp some day.
2024 Schedule: Girls’ Week: June 10-14 Boys’ Week: July 22-26 The Girls’ LIT week has been postponed to July 22-26. The boys’ week has been cancelled.
